Mary Anne Molcan, Fern Dance, Hand Carved and Pulled Lino Block Print, 9.75” x 11.75”, 2019
Fern Dance was channeled as I witnessed a gentle breeze blow through the forest floor. Ferns appeared to dance with the wind and as an observer, I became enrapt with the beauty and grace of each frond. The subtle layers reflect my engagement with the wind and surrounding fauna of Northern Vancouver Island, coupled with a sense of reverence I feel when I am there. Several different hues of green capture the sense of movement and speak to the continual renewal and cyclic nature of life.
